African/Nigerian brand inspired gift guide for the holidays

African/Nigerian brand inspired gift guide for the holidays

I know this is coming late and to be honest, it was kind of like a last minute thing and that’s why I put in “holidays” in the title.

Why did I decide to do this? If you do not know, I’m a huge uh! would I say patriot for African/Nigerian owned businesses, although the affordable ones o! or when I see a mad discount hehe. Most of these gift ideas are for the ladies but guys I got you too.

You know how we have different types of friends? Well that’s the way I’m categorizing this gift guide. Let’s get into it!

The natural skincare fanatic:

These beautiful products are from a Nigerian brand called R&R luxury. The liquid black soap, black soap bar, shea oil and coconut oil have been staples for a year+ now and I’m absolutely still in love. Now if you’re in the united states, you’re in luck because their products are available via . They also have candles, home fragrances which they just launched and gift box options.

The bag lady:

Sigh! This is the cutest handbag ever ok??? Maknisy is the brand and no this is not sponsored so the hype is reaaaaalll!!!! They have a variety of really cute bags and I’ll probably get some to gift people.

This umbrella print Ankara satchel bag is sturdy, stylish and very roomy inside (maybe a separate post for this bag specifically?). Nigerian brands are not playing guys! These bags come in various sizes and I think there’s currently a discount sale on the site, so check then out here. P.s. they also deliver to the U.S. and have the best customer service.

The African, Proud & not afraid to flaunt it pal:

I love this “African” varsity sweatshirt

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed as usual when I came across a tee that said “Naija no dey carry last” (if you know, you know!) and as a sharp geh, I had to find where to get it. The search led me to the Okayafricashop page. They have a variety of sweatshirts, tees and hats, so check them out and purchase here.

The Afro-licious artsy enigma:

I don’t know about you guys but I love theses brooches and what better way is there to start the new year without a black girl magic 2018 calendar????

These items are creations fro a Nigerian makeup artist based in NYC and she goes by the name/brand Moshoodat. To me the calendars are a steal because you practically get art for freeee!!! Go grab one for you and all the black magic girls out there now.

These are a few things I believe are worth gifting and definitely won’t put a hole in your pocket. Of course there are other brands but these are products which I purchased and trusted to share. Hopefully I’ll have this updated soon.
